{"id":6862,"date":"2026-04-09T09:33:25","date_gmt":"2026-04-09T07:33:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jutta-vogel-stiftung.de\/obituary-for-jutta-vogel\/"},"modified":"2026-04-09T09:33:59","modified_gmt":"2026-04-09T07:33:59","slug":"obituary-for-jutta-vogel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jutta-vogel-stiftung.de\/en\/obituary-for-jutta-vogel\/","title":{"rendered":"Obituary for Jutta Vogel"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>March, 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>We bid a very sad farewell to Jutta Vogel, who passed away on March 19, 2026 at the age of 83.<\/p>\n\n<p>But we are also full of gratitude to have known this special person and to have worked with her for the foundation that bears her name and which she set up with private funds 23 years ago.<\/p>\n\n<p>We are grateful for the many meetings in which we had lively and always constructive discussions with Jutta Vogel about projects to be funded, grateful for the unforgettable events that she generously supported time and again, in particular the 10th anniversary of the foundation in 2023 at the Rautenstrauch-Joest-Museum, Kulturen der Welt, in Cologne.<\/p>\n\n<p>Jutta Vogel&#8217;s passion was the African continent, especially the deserts and their fascinating people. She was inspired by the creativity and innovative power of the desert dwellers. Traveling to these unique places was a source of energy and inspiration for her.  <\/p>\n\n<p>We will remember Jutta Vogel as a warm, strong, powerful person who implemented so many projects in various African countries with curiosity, perseverance and great personal commitment and infected us with her enthusiasm.<\/p>\n\n<p>We have many fond memories of spending time with Jutta Vogel and her wonderful photographs, which depict the African continent and its people in all their diversity.<\/p>\n\n<p>In 2010, Mrs. Vogel placed the foundation in the hands of the University of Cologne and withdrew from the foundation business in 2013.
