African Futures – All Around offers a scientific, cultural and socio-political program for all citizens to engage in a respectful and critical conversation, to gain new and differentiated perspectives and to celebrate together.
Featuring a keynote address by Kenyan writer Yvonne Adhiambo Owuor.
Owuors was awarded the Caine Prize for African Writing in 2003. Her debut novel ‘The Place Where the Journey Ends’ (DuMont 2016) was shortlisted for the Folio Prize, and she also received the Jomo Kenyatta Prize for Literature for it.
Afterwards, the opening event of the africologneFESTIVAL will take place with the premiere of the play Samson. (Admission to the premiere only with a valid ticket).
